Bhaderwah, May 08: A mock drill on fire and safety along with an awareness programme was organised today at Sub District Hospital (SDH) Bhaderwah by the Fire and Emergency Services Department in coordination with the hospital administration.
The programme witnessed participation from officials, healthcare staff and Fire & Emergency Services personnel and was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunil Kumar Bhutyal, CEO BDA Sanjeev Sharma and BMO Dr. Varsha Sharma.
During the event, participants were sensitised about fire safety measures, emergency response techniques and proper use of fire safety equipment during crisis situations. Fire service personnel demonstrated rescue operations and evacuation procedures to be followed during fire emergencies, with active participation from hospital staff.
The programme also highlighted the importance of Basic Life Support (BLS), which involves immediate medical assistance provided during cardiac arrest and other life-threatening emergencies by healthcare workers and first responders.
The mock drill concluded successfully, providing practical exposure and enhancing preparedness among participants regarding fire safety management and emergency handling procedures.
