Special Youm-e-Ashoora sermon to be delivered at Astan-e-Aaliya Alam Sahib in Srinagar

Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq has paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of Karbala, especially Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the beloved grandson of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), for his unparalleled sacrifice in upholding the principles of Islam.

In a statement, Mirwaiz said Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) stood firmly against oppression, injustice, and falsehood, setting an eternal example of courage, patience, and commitment to truth. He described the tragedy of Karbala as one of the defining chapters in Islamic and human history, inspiring believers to uphold the values of sacrifice, justice, and moral responsibility.

Continuing the centuries-old tradition of the Mirwaizeen, Mirwaiz Dr. Umar Farooq will deliver a special sermon on the occasion of Youm-e-Ashoora (10th Muharram-ul-Haram 1448 AH) on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Astan-e-Aaliya Alam Sahib, Narwara, Srinagar.

The sermon will begin at 4:30 PM and continue until Asr prayers. During the address, Mirwaiz will highlight the significance of Youm-e-Ashoora, pay homage to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the martyrs of Karbala, and lead collective prayers.

The statement also appealed to the public to participate in large numbers and benefit from the sermon and prayers.
