Massive Anti-Drug Awareness Campaigns Continue in Shopian Under NMJKA

District Administration intensifies outreach programmes, urging youth participation and community involvement for drug-free society

SHOPIAN, MAY 15: District Administration Shopian, under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, continues to organise a series of intensive awareness and outreach programmes across the district to educate people, especially youth, about the harmful effects of drug abuse.

As part of the sustained campaign, awareness drives, sports activities, seminars, yoga sessions, cultural events and interactive meetings are being conducted in schools, colleges, villages and public places with active participation of students, youth clubs, teachers, civil society members and local volunteers.

During these programmes, participants were sensitised about the growing menace of substance abuse and encouraged to actively contribute towards building a drug-free society. Speakers stressed the importance of community participation, parental guidance and coordinated efforts to protect the younger generation from drug addiction.

Special focus is being laid on engaging youth in constructive activities including sports, skill development and awareness initiatives so that they remain productively involved and stay away from substance abuse. Various departments are jointly conducting these programmes to strengthen the anti-drug movement at the grassroots level.

Citizens were urged to remain vigilant and report any drug-related activities to the concerned authorities for timely action.

The daily awareness initiatives are receiving encouraging response from the public and are contributing significantly towards building a healthier, safer and drug-free Shopian.
