Kishtwar/Doda, June 15: In a major action against drug trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Doda Police has attached a residential property along with shops worth approximately ₹40.18 lakh under the provisions of Chapter VA of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
The action was taken in connection with FIR No. 39/2026 registered at Police Station Gandoh under Sections 8/20/29 of the NDPS Act. During the course of investigation, police recovered substantial quantities of narcotic substances and other incriminating material, indicating the accused’s involvement in illegal drug trafficking activities.
According to police, the investigation was conducted by the SHO Police Station Gandoh under the close supervision of the SDPO Gandoh. A detailed financial probe revealed that a three-storeyed residential house with shops at Domail, Kahara, and another residential house at Bani Trankle, belonging to Kamar Din S/o Mohd Din, were allegedly acquired through proceeds generated from the illicit narcotics trade.
Following the findings, the properties, valued at approximately ₹40,18,537, were attached under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act pending further proceedings before the Competent Authority.
Police stated that the attachment was carried out after establishing a clear nexus between the properties and proceeds derived from drug trafficking. Legal proceedings against the accused are underway, while efforts are also being made to identify and attach any additional assets found to have been acquired through illegal means.
Doda Police said the action demonstrates its firm commitment to the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan and its zero-tolerance policy towards drug trafficking. Besides targeting individuals involved in the narcotics trade, the police are also focusing on dismantling the financial networks that support such criminal activities.
The public has been urged to continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies by sharing information related to drug trafficking and substance abuse, thereby strengthening collective efforts towards building a drug-free and addiction-free Jammu & Kashmir.
