Lt Gen Mohit Seth Takes Over Command of White Knight Corps From Lt Gen P K Mishra

Jammu, October 1: Lieutenant General Mohit Seth, SM, VSM, on Thursday assumed command of the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps, also known as XVI Corps, from Lieutenant General P K Mishra, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM.

Following the change of command at Nagrota, Lt Gen Seth called upon all ranks to maintain the highest standards of operational readiness, professional excellence and team spirit. He also stressed the continued focus on peace, security and stability in the region.

Lt Gen Seth is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and the National Defence College and was commissioned into the 3 Madras Regiment in 1991. He has served in several command and staff appointments, including as General Officer Commanding of the Counter-Insurgency Force Kilo in Jammu and Kashmir. He was serving as Commandant of the Indian Military Training Team (IMTRAT) in Bhutan before taking over the White Knight Corps.

The White Knight Corps, headquartered at Nagrota, is responsible for the operational area of the Jammu region, including areas along the Line of Control and the hinterland. The formation has responsibilities relating to border security as well as counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations in parts of the Jammu region.

Lt Gen P K Mishra had assumed command of the White Knight Corps in April 2025. During his tenure, he was conferred the Uttam Yudh Seva Medal at the Defence Investiture Ceremony 2026 (Phase II). He is also a recipient of the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Yudh Seva Medal and Sena Medal. He is set to move to a new assignment following the change of command.

The White Knight Corps marked the transition with the message: “Prepared For Today, Ready For Tomorrow. We Serve, We Protect.”
