Jammu, May 5: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday interacted with achiever students and faculty of Jammu University’s “Design Your Degree (DYD)” programme at Lok Bhavan and reviewed its contribution towards academic excellence, innovation, and skill-based learning.
During the interaction, students from various semesters presented their academic journey, learning methodology under the DYD programme, and achievements earned at national-level competitions and platforms.
They also showcased a range of technology-driven projects aimed at addressing real-life challenges. These included Agri Vimaan for drone-based agricultural spraying, Ru-stay for promoting sustainable rural tourism, Arpan for waste-to-wealth conversion, and Bhoomify for producing biodegradable products from waste paper.
The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the students for their innovative and socially relevant approach, stating that such initiatives reflect the growing spirit of entrepreneurship and problem-solving among youth. He encouraged them to further work on sustainable solutions, including effective systems for temple waste management in Jammu.
Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu, along with senior faculty members and heads of departments, were also present during the interaction.
