SRINAGAR, MAY 11: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday inaugurated the National Youth Festival–Aarohan 2026 in Srinagar, calling it a powerful platform to inspire young minds towards building a developed India by 2047.
Addressing the gathering, the LG said the festival reflects a new vision of “Rise, Shine, and Conquer,” describing it as a philosophy that motivates youth to shape the future of the nation with confidence and innovation.
He said the initiative aligns with the larger goal of Viksit Bharat @2047, adding that the time has come for youth to take centre stage in nation-building.
“The National Youth Festival is a proclamation that the time for youth has arrived. Governance cannot thrive without their voice and participation,” Sinha said, urging young participants to actively contribute through initiatives like the Young Leaders Dialogue, hackathons, and cultural programmes.
He emphasised that history has always been shaped by those who dared to innovate, not those who waited for permission. “India needs youth who are ready to break old patterns and create new paths,” he added.

Highlighting the importance of creativity and self-belief, the LG said every young person possesses unique talent that must be nurtured through opportunity and confidence.
“The world does not need copies; it needs original minds who can lead and inspire others,” he remarked.
Sinha also underlined the role of culture in shaping identity, saying that expression through art, music, literature, sports, and theatre reflects the soul of India.
He further said that true victory lies in overcoming inequality, apathy, and despair, rather than dominating others. “The greatest achievements come from classrooms and laboratories, not battlefields,” he added.
The event was attended by several dignitaries including Minister for Youth Services & Sports Satish Sharma, senior administrative officials, and youth representatives from across the country.
