SRINAGAR, Mar 26: The Counter Intelligence Wing (CIK) of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday conducted raids at multiple locations across the valley as part of its investigation into a transnational terror module linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operating from Pakistan and Bangladesh, officials said.
According to officials, the raids targeted 10 locations across three districts—Srinagar, Shopian, and Ganderbal.
“These raids are being carried out under search warrants issued by the court in a recent terror case registered at the CIK police station,” the officials added.
The investigation focuses on a terror module reportedly directed by Shabir Ahmad Lone, a Kashmir-native LeT operator currently based in Bangladesh. Lone hails from the Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
“The transnational module is linked to the Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), with operations reportedly receiving directions from handlers in Bangladesh and Pakistan,” officials said. (Agency)
