Srinagar: The winners and participants of the Jammu & Kashmir Police’s Kashmir Marathon – “Run for Unity” were felicitated in Srinagar, with the event highlighting the message of unity, peace and diversity.
The marathon brought together runners from different backgrounds, with participants taking part in a run aimed at promoting the spirit of togetherness and harmony in Jammu and Kashmir. The event also showcased the region’s growing engagement with sporting activities and community initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor congratulated all the participants and winners for their efforts and described every step taken by the runners as a reflection of India’s strength in diversity and unity.
The Lieutenant Governor said the participants had run for a peaceful and united Jammu and Kashmir and for the vision of a developed India by 2047. The message emphasised the role of sports and public participation in promoting unity, peace and a shared sense of national purpose.
The Kashmir Marathon also provided a platform for athletes to demonstrate their endurance and sporting spirit, while the felicitation ceremony recognised the achievements of those who finished among the winners.
