Police Post Jourian has solved a theft case registered under FIR No. 235/2025, dated December 11, 2025, at Police Station Akhnoor under Section 303(2) of the BNS. During the operation, police recovered 50 stolen LPG gas cylinders of an Indian brand.
During the investigation, a suspect identified as Zakir Hussain, son of Abdul Majid Shah and a resident of Kotli Mian Fateh, R.S. Pura, Jammu, presently staying at Gujjar Basti, Belicharana, Jammu, was apprehended.
During sustained questioning, the accused confessed to his involvement in the theft and revealed the location where the stolen cylinders had been hidden.
Acting on his disclosure, police recovered 50 LPG cylinders, which were identified on the spot by the complainant. The Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK02BD-2805, allegedly used in the crime, has also been seized.
The accused has been formally arrested and further investigation in the case is underway.
