Tehran, March 12: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that the only way to end the ongoing war is through recognition of Iran’s undeniable rights and the establishment of strong international guarantees to prevent future aggression.
Pezeshkian said, “In talks with the presidents of Russia and Pakistan, while reaffirming the Islamic Republic’s commitment to peace in the region, I emphasized that ending the war—sparked by the warmongering of the Zionist regime and the US—requires recognition of Iran’s indisputable rights, payment of reparations, and firm international obligations to prevent repeated aggression.”
Iranian state media reported that US and Israeli strikes have targeted over 16,000 residential units. Quoting Mojtaba Khaledi, spokesperson for the Red Crescent Society, 19,734 non-military buildings were hit, including 16,291 residential units. Additionally, 77 medical centers and 16 Red Crescent facilities were attacked.
Earlier, Iran’s IRGC announced the 40th wave of its retaliatory Operation True Promise 4, launching missile strikes on hostile targets across the region. The operation reportedly involved the use of Qadr, Emad, Kheibar Shekan, and Fattah missiles and was conducted in coordination with Lebanon’s Hezbollah.
“As acknowledged by Zionist media, missile launches from Iran towards Israel have increased over the past 24 hours, causing significant casualties,” the IRGC stated. The Corps also claimed that US bases in the region, including al-Azraq in Jordan and al-Kharj in Saudi Arabia, were hit during this wave. The IRGC described the situation as “the most significant outcome of the conflict caused by the deceit of US President Donald Trump and the actions of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.”
Thursday marks day 13 of the West Asia conflict, with neither side showing signs of de-escalation. (AGENCY)
