Indian Army Urges Pakistan to Adhere to 2021 Ceasefire Understanding After LoC Violation
The Indian Army has called on its Pakistani counterparts to uphold the tenets of the 2021 Director General of Military Operations (DGsMO) understanding, following a mine blast and ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district.
In an official statement, the Army said, “On April 1, a mine blast occurred in the Krishna Ghati sector due to Pakistan Army intrusion across the LoC. This was followed by unprovoked firing and a ceasefire violation by the Pakistan Army.”
Indian forces responded in a “controlled and calibrated manner,” ensuring the situation remains under control and is being closely monitored, the statement added.
Reaffirming its commitment to peace, the Indian Army stressed the importance of maintaining the DGsMO understanding of 2021, which was established to prevent cross-border hostilities.
