Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday emphasized that the inclusivity among Indian youth is a key driving force behind their development.
Addressing a gathering via video conference during the Rozgar Mela, where over 51,000 appointment letters were distributed to newly appointed youth across various government departments, PM Modi highlighted the pivotal role of youth in strengthening India’s economy, internal security, infrastructure development, and improving the lives of workers.
He urged the newly recruited individuals to work with utmost honesty to contribute to India’s vision of becoming a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).
“Today, more than 51,000 youth have received permanent government job letters across different departments. Your new responsibilities include fortifying the economic system, enhancing internal security, building modern infrastructure, and bringing transformative changes in the lives of labourers. The more sincerely you work, the stronger India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat will become,” he said.
PM Modi added, “The most admirable aspect of Indian youth development is its inclusivity.”
Highlighting the crucial role of youth in national progress, PM Modi said, “When the youth actively contribute to nation-building, the country develops swiftly and leaves a mark on the global stage. Today, India’s youth are showcasing their immense potential through hard work and innovation.”
He also spotlighted the government’s efforts to enhance employment and self-employment opportunities for young people.
Further, the Prime Minister praised the achievements of women, citing examples from recent UPSC results where women secured the top two ranks and three out of the top five positions.
“Our daughters are excelling in every field—be it bureaucracy, space, or science. The government’s initiatives are empowering rural women through schemes like Bank Sakhi, Krishi Sakhi, and Self-Help Groups,” PM Modi said.
He noted that India currently has over 90 lakh Self-Help Groups, comprising more than 10 crore women members. To empower them further, the government has increased the budget allocation fivefold and now provides collateral-free loans of up to Rs 20 lakh.
Speaking about upcoming opportunities for young creators, PM Modi announced that Mumbai will host the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES 2025), which will create new platforms and possibilities for the youth.
