RAMBAN, MAY 10: Gul Syed on Saturday visited Ramban district to review horticulture activities and farmers’ awareness camps being conducted by the department.
He was accompanied by Chief Horticulture Officer Rajinder Kumar and Assistant Director Sunil Gupta.
During the visit, the Director inspected the Horticulture Farm Ramban and later visited departmental nurseries at Gool and Sangaldan. He directed officers and officials to ensure the propagation of quality planting material in departmental nurseries for the benefit of orchardists.
The Director also attended farmers’ awareness camps organised by the department and interacted with growers, informing them about various horticulture schemes and modern cultivation practices. He briefed farmers about schemes including HADP, MIDH, CSS and ATMA.
Later, Gul Syed inspected a high-density apple orchard and interacted with orchardists. He stressed the importance of adopting advanced cultivation techniques, scientific orchard management practices and improved productivity measures to enhance fruit production and farmers’ income.
Among others present on the occasion were Farm Manager ACHD Pardeep Dingra, concerned Horticulture Development Officers and staff members of the District Horticulture Department.
