GMT and BRO Project Himank Receives CE&CR Award 2026 for Sustainable Construction

Leh/Ladakh August 24: M/s GMT, in collaboration with BRO’s Project Himank, has been honoured with the prestigious CE&CR Award 2026 under the category “Excellence in Sustainable & Green Construction Technology” for its outstanding work on the Lukung–Chartse Road in Leh, UT of Ladakh.

The award recognises GMT’s efforts towards adopting sustainable construction practices and innovative green technologies while executing infrastructure projects in the challenging high-altitude terrain of Ladakh.

The award was received by Farooq Ahmed Tapal, Managing Director, M/s GMT, and Lt. Colonel Gunjan at the CE&CR Awards 2026 ceremony held at EROS, New Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Farooq Ahmed Tapal expressed gratitude to the organisers and all stakeholders associated with the project, stating that the recognition reflects the dedication, hard work and technical excellence of the entire GMT team.

The recognition also highlights the importance of sustainable infrastructure development in ecologically sensitive and geographically challenging regions such as Ladakh.

The award further reinforces GMT’s commitment to delivering environmentally responsible, sustainable and technically innovative infrastructure in some of the most demanding terrains across the country, in close coordination with the Border Roads Organisation and its Project Himank.
