Flight operations resume at Srinagar airport

Operations were restored after airport authorities cleared snow from the runway following a day-long suspension due to heavy snowfall across the Valley.

Srinagar, Jan 28: Flight operations at Srinagar International Airport resumed on Wednesday, a day after all schedules were suspended due to fresh snowfall in the Valley, officials said.

Airport authorities stated that the runway was cleared of snow and flight operations were given the “green signal” on Wednesday morning.

“Flight operations to and from Srinagar International Airport have resumed. The runway was properly cleared this morning and permission was granted for flights to operate,” a senior airport official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS).

Passengers whose flights were cancelled on Tuesday have been advised to contact their respective airlines for updated schedules and rebooking.

All flights were grounded on Tuesday as heavy snowfall across Kashmir led to the suspension of air traffic. (Agencies)
