Basohli, May 08: An Entrepreneurial Awareness Programme was organised today at Government Degree College (GDC) Basohli under the Udyam Jagriti 4.0 initiative to encourage youth towards entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of College Principal Prof. Raj Kiran Sharma and witnessed participation from nearly 70 students and Yuva team members of the college.
The event aimed to motivate students to explore startup culture, innovation, and government-supported entrepreneurial schemes while bridging the gap between academic learning and practical business exposure.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Neha Bandral, Convenor and Nodal Officer for Udyam Jagriti under Mission Yuva. She highlighted the increasing importance of entrepreneurship in today’s rapidly evolving economic environment and stressed that initiatives like Udyam Jagriti can empower students to become job creators rather than job seekers.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal discussed various aspects related to entrepreneurship, including fundamentals of starting a business, financial planning, funding opportunities, and the growing role of digital platforms in business expansion.
She also highlighted several government initiatives and support schemes aimed at helping aspiring entrepreneurs and creating a strong ecosystem for youth-led enterprises.
The programme concluded with interactive participation from students, who showed keen interest in learning about entrepreneurship and startup opportunities.
