Continuing its crackdown against drug trafficking, Jammu Police apprehended a drug peddler and recovered heroin-like contraband during routine patrolling in the Talab Tillo area.
At around 1500 hrs, a police team from Police Post Talab Tillo, headed by PSI Sohail Ahmad Rather, was conducting routine patrolling within the jurisdiction of Police Post Talab Tillo.
When the police team reached Durga Nagar, Talab Tillo, a person identified as Arjun Gupta alias Kaka Kuti, S/o Manoj Kumar Gupta, R/o H. No. 1, Lane No. 1, near Red Cross Society, Udhaywala, was noticed moving in a suspicious manner. On seeing the police party, he attempted to flee from the spot. Acting swiftly, the police team chased and apprehended him.
During his personal search, conducted as per legal procedure, approximately 6 grams of heroin-like contraband was recovered from his conscious possession. The substance was seized on the spot after completing all necessary legal formalities.
In this regard, FIR No. 46/2026 under sections 8/21/25 of the NDPS Act has been registered at the concerned Police Station, and further investigation has been initiated to ascertain the forward and backward linkages in the case.
Jammu Police reiterated its firm commitment to eradicate the menace of drugs from society and urged the public to cooperate by sharing any information related to drug trafficking and substance abuse in their localities.
