Dr. Jahanzaib Sirwal Meets Health Minister Sakeena Itoo, Flags Critical Issues at District Hospital Kishtwar

Kishtwar/Srinagar: Dr. Jahanzaib Sirwal on Saturday called on Sakeena Itoo at her residence in Gupkar and raised several pressing issues concerning the functioning of District Hospital Kishtwar, seeking urgent government intervention to improve healthcare services in the district.

During the meeting, Dr. Sirwal apprised the Health Minister of what he described as the alarming condition of the hospital. He highlighted the acute shortage of departmental staff, stressed the need for establishing a full-fledged Cath Lab, called for strengthening the Radiology Department with modern diagnostic facilities, and raised concerns over the overall administrative functioning of the hospital.

Dr. Sirwal also expressed serious concern over reports that some doctors allegedly remain engaged in private practice during government duty hours, leading to prolonged waiting times and considerable inconvenience for patients visiting the hospital for treatment. He urged the Health Minister to ensure strict accountability and effective monitoring of hospital services so that patients receive timely and quality healthcare.

Seeking immediate action, Dr. Sirwal requested the Minister to address the long-pending deficiencies, strengthen the healthcare infrastructure, and improve the overall functioning of District Hospital Kishtwar in the interest of the people of the district.

The Health Minister gave a patient hearing to the issues raised during the meeting and assured Dr. Sirwal that the concerns would be addressed in a time-bound manner. She also spoke to the concerned authorities and directed them to initiate the necessary measures without delay.

Dr. Sirwal thanked the Health Minister for her prompt response and expressed hope that the assurances would soon translate into visible improvements in healthcare facilities at District Hospital Kishtwar, benefiting thousands of patients across the district.
