Srinagar, Mar 30 : Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi on Sunday said that India’s message of peace offers a way forward in a conflict-ridden world.
She was speaking at a one-day convention titled “Message of Peace for the Whole Humanity” held at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) here.
The event was organised by the Swami Vivekanand International Peace and Spiritual Cultural Centre in collaboration with Zenith Book of World Records and World Star Records. It was attended by parliamentarians, diplomats and intellectuals from India and abroad, including a delegation from Nepal.
Addressing the gathering, Andrabi said that Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed significant transformation in recent years.
“Earlier, the region was associated with violence, killings, terror attacks, strikes and curfews. Now, the situation has changed and Kashmir is contributing to the message of peace for humanity,” she said.
She added that those who have experienced conflict understand the true value of peace and stability.
Andrabi said the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are now actively participating in various sectors and contributing to the country’s growth.
“It is our collective responsibility to sustain this peaceful environment so that future generations benefit from peace, coexistence and harmony,” she added.
The convention also featured a peace dialogue between Indian and Nepali participants, focusing on cooperation and shared approaches to peace-building.
Several personalities, including Centre founder Rajib Pal, activist Anil Chauhan, singer Santsree Bhattacharya, former MP Dr Vikas Mahatme, jurist Dr Harendraroy Yadav and yoga expert Acharya Raja Shastri, were present on the occasion.
Awards were presented to individuals in different categories during the event.
Andrabi was also honoured by the organisers for her contribution to peace and harmony, and she thanked them for the recognition. (Agency)
