Doda, September 23: Doda Police recovered 80 bottles of illicit liquor from an auto during a naka checking at Pul Doda and booked two persons in connection with the recovery, officials said.
According to the Police Media Cell Doda, a police team from Police Post Pul Doda, under Police Station Doda, intercepted an auto bearing registration number JK06C-4929, which was travelling towards Doda City, following reliable information about the transportation of liquor.
During a search of the vehicle, police recovered 72 bottles of JK Special Whisky, each measuring 250 ml, and eight bottles of Godfather Beer, each measuring 500 ml.
The two occupants were identified as Surinder Singh, son of Late Rana Sundar Singh, resident of Doda, and Slinder Singh, son of Angrez Singh, resident of Kudhar, Doda.
Police said the recovered liquor was seized on the spot as per the prescribed legal procedure, while necessary legal action has been initiated against the two accused under relevant provisions of law.
Doda Police reiterated its commitment to taking strict action against the illegal transportation and sale of liquor and other unlawful activities across the district.
