Leader of the Opposition Sunil Sharma on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, questioning whether his push for statehood endangered innocent Kashmiri civilians.
Addressing a news conference, Sharma accused Abdullah of causing harm to civilians during his tenure as Chief Minister.
“I want to remind Kashmiris that if we look back at history, we will find many fabricated stories told in the name of counter-terrorism. Many people claimed they were innocent yet suffered under Omar Abdullah’s tenure. Do you want statehood to put innocent Kashmiris at risk? You didn’t eliminate terrorists—you targeted civilians, enforced shutdowns, and closed schools,” Sharma said.
He added that Abdullah failed to protect the people and caused suffering during his rule as Chief Minister of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. (Sources)
