Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar chaired a review meeting to assess the implementation and progress of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna across Jammu division.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from JPDCL, JKEDA, Chief Engineers, Deputy Commissioners, and other concerned departments. The Div Com reviewed district-wise applications received for rooftop solar installations and the progress achieved so far.
He stressed the need to identify bottlenecks and enhance public awareness to encourage maximum participation in the subsidized solar scheme aimed at reducing electricity bills and promoting renewable energy.
Ramesh Kumar directed JPDCL to intensify awareness campaigns and simplify processes for beneficiaries. Deputy Commissioners were also instructed to conduct regular reviews to ensure smooth and timely implementation.
The Div Com additionally reviewed smart metering progress under RDSS and directed officials to expand coverage through better deployment of field teams.
