District Legal Services Authority Kishtwar organises 2nd National Lok Adalat

264 cases settled amicably in Kishtwar; over ₹18 lakh awarded to claimants

KISHTWAR, MAY 10: The District Legal Services Authority Kishtwar on Saturday organised the Second National Lok Adalat in pursuance of the activities outlined in the National Calendar and under the directions of the Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority.

The Lok Adalat dealt with criminal compoundable cases, matrimonial disputes, maintenance matters, civil disputes, recovery cases, labour disputes, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) matters, pre-litigation cases and other related matters through four specially constituted benches.

The first bench comprised Sudhir Kumar Khajuria and Karan Bijyal. The second bench included Deputy Kumar and Deepika Sharma.

The third bench consisted of Meera Bangotra and Jalil Ahmed Waza, while the fourth bench included Mamta Sudershan and Naveed Khurshid Dev.

A total of 321 cases were taken up during the Lok Adalat, out of which 264 cases of various nature were amicably settled. An amount of ₹18,23,300 was awarded to claimants in MACT, labour disputes and other related cases.
