Director, FCS&CA Jammu visits FCI Godown, Indane LPG Bottling Plant

Jammu May 14, 2026: The Director Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Jammu, Sh. Rajesh Kumar Shavan, JKAS, paid visit to FCI godown, Birpur & LPG Bottling Plant at Bari Brahmana to over see the off take and despatches of ration & LPG to various districts of Jammu Division. The visit was primarily meant to get the accompanying team of officers acquainted with the process of bottling of LPG, distribution & marketing from the source & also to see the mechanism of maintenance of quality of ration at godown levels.


The Director assessed the stock position of food grains and stacking arrangements maintained at the store. He also visited store, weigh bridge and moisture checking laboratory to see the prescribed quality standards and operational procedures.

The Director was received by Divisional Manager, FCI, Sh. Navneet Kumar Rana who explained the overall functioning and storage management system of the FCI and other related parameters of maintaining transparency, preservation and timely disposal and movement of stocks. Mr. Shavan, Director enjoined upon the concerned officials to ensure strict compliance with quality control measures while despatching the consignment of ration to FCS&CA, Department.


Later, the Director also visited the Indane LPG Bottling Plant at Bari Brahmana where he inspected the availability and stock position of LPG cylinders, bottling and its distribution process. He emphasized for uninterrupted supply of LPG to all the dealers of gas across the division to ensure smooth supplies.


Pertinent to mention that the department of Food Civil, Supplies and Consumer Affairs is constantly monitoring the essential supplies to the consumers & ensuring fair trade in the interest of consumers.
