New Delhi, Feb 16: The Delhi Police on Monday marked its 79th Raising Day, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah attending the समारोह as chief guest and reviewing the ceremonial parade.

The event featured an impressive march past by the force’s top marching contingent, SWAT team, dog squad, band unit, motorcycle riders, PCR units, and several other specialised formations.

Welcoming the chief guest, Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golchha said the force remains fully prepared to handle any situation in the national capital.

Addressing the gathering, he outlined the force’s key priorities, including working towards a “drug-free India”, combating cyberterrorism, and dismantling organised crime networks.

He added that nine gangsters had been killed in encounters in 2025 so far, and that the Special Cell, with support from central agencies, is tracking 32 gangsters who have fled abroad.
