DC Shopian chairs meeting to finalise arrangements for upcoming VVIP visit

Comprehensive review held on security, logistics and public facilities ahead of May 14 visit

SHOPIAN, MAY 11: Deputy Commissioner Shishir Gupta on Monday chaired a high-level meeting at the Mini-Secretariat Shopian to review and finalise arrangements for the upcoming VVIP visit scheduled for May 14.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on all key arrangements including security, transport, parking facilities, sanitation, water and power supply, healthcare services, public address system (PAS), and other essential logistical requirements.

The Deputy Commissioner issued strict directions to all department heads to ensure seamless execution of assigned responsibilities with full coordination and efficiency so as to ensure smooth conduct of the event.

He emphasised that all departmental action plans must be implemented in a timely and precise manner, with special focus on ensuring hassle-free movement of the public to the venue and proper mobilisation strategies.

Shishir Gupta also stressed the importance of inclusive participation from all sections of society and said that the event should be organised in a vibrant and well-coordinated manner.

Officials informed that the event holds significance as it marks the inauguration and dedication of key sports infrastructure projects aimed at promoting youth engagement in sports activities in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Commissioner Development, General Manager DIC, Assistant Superintendent of Police, and other senior district and sectoral officers.
