Poonch, May 5: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma, who is also the District Principal Census Officer for Census 2027, on Monday chaired a meeting to review preparations for the smooth conduct of Census 2027 in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik, Assistant Commissioner Development Shakeel Ahmed, District Statistics and Evaluation Officer Javed Ahmed, District Informatics Officer Parvinder Singh, Tehsildar Azhar Majid, Chief Education Officer Mohammad Hafeez, AD Statistics, and other concerned officers.
The meeting was informed that the Self-Enumeration phase will be conducted from May 17 to May 25, 2027. Citizens will be able to complete their details online through the official portal (https://se.census.gov.in).
The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to encourage maximum participation and ensure timely completion of self-enumeration by spreading awareness among residents.
He further instructed the Education Department to educate students about the importance of the census during morning assemblies and motivate them to assist their families in completing the process within the stipulated time.
Tehsildars and other concerned officials were directed to ensure that all preparatory arrangements are completed well in time to facilitate a smooth and efficient census exercise.
It was also informed that the House Listing and Housing Census (Phase-I) will be conducted from June 1 to June 30, 2026.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized close inter-departmental coordination to ensure the successful and timely execution of the Census 2027 Phase-I activities in the district.
