DC Bandipora Chairs Stakeholder Meet on GIS-Based Master Plan 2026–2046

Focus on sustainable urban planning balanced infrastructure development growth

Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Indu Kanwal Chib chaired a stakeholder meeting to review the Draft GIS-Based Master Plan 2026–2046 prepared by the Town Planning Organisation Kashmir.

The meeting discussed key components including land use planning, population projections, infrastructure development, transportation systems, and social infrastructure such as education and healthcare. Officials also presented a SWOT analysis and the Vision 2046 framework based on a polycentric development model.

The plan also includes proposals for economic development through IT/AI parks, agro-processing units, medical infrastructure, and promotion of sustainable tourism in the district.

The DC stressed the importance of inclusive and participatory planning and directed that the draft plan be kept open for public feedback. She said suggestions from stakeholders and citizens will be incorporated into the revised master plan.

Senior officials, engineers, town planning experts, and representatives from civil society and trade bodies attended the meeting.
