Cyber Police Station Ramban recovered 35 lost mobile phones worth ₹6.5 lakh and returned them to their owners. Since 2024, Ramban Police has recovered 275 phones worth ₹45.5 lakh.

Ramban, June 22: In a notable example of citizen-centric policing and public service, the Cyber Police Station Ramban has successfully traced and recovered 35 lost mobile phones worth approximately ₹6.5 lakh and restored them to their rightful owners.

The mobile phones had been reported missing at various police stations across Ramban district. Acting promptly on these complaints, a dedicated team of the Cyber Police Station Ramban launched a systematic investigation and employed advanced technical tools and cyber-tracking techniques to locate and recover the devices.

The recovery operation was carried out by a team comprising PSI Arun Singh, PSI Arwinder Singh, ASI Mohammad Shareef, Selection Grade Constable Ayaz Ahmed, and Constable Hemit Singh under the supervision and guidance of DySP Headquarters Ramban, Shri Vikar Butt.

After completing all necessary verification formalities, the recovered mobile phones were handed over to their legitimate owners. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Ramban Police for their swift action, professional approach, and successful recovery of their valuable belongings.

According to police officials, since the establishment of the Cyber Police Station/Cyber Cell in Ramban in 2024, a total of 275 lost or missing mobile phones worth approximately ₹45.5 lakh have been successfully traced, recovered, and returned to their owners. Ramban Police currently ranks among the top-performing districts in Jammu and Kashmir, securing the third position across the Union Territory in tracing and recovering lost mobile phones.

The initiative has received widespread appreciation from the public and highlights the increasing effectiveness of technology-driven policing in the district.
