Srinagar, July 13: The Court of the 2nd Additional District Judge, Srinagar, has requested BCCI President Mithun Manhas to use his good offices to facilitate mediation in the civil suit filed by JKCA President Javid Ahmad Kitab against Honorary Secretary Amit Kumar and others.
The Court observed that the dispute pertains to the internal affairs of the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) and directed the parties to attempt an amicable settlement through mediation, to be completed within 15 days.
Importantly, the Court did not grant any interim relief sought by Javid Ahmad Kitab. It directed both sides to cooperate in the mediation process, maintain confidentiality, and refrain from taking any action that may prejudice the rights of either party during the mediation period.
The matter has been listed for further hearing on July 29, 2026. In the event mediation fails, the Court will consider the preliminary objections, including the maintainability of the suit and other legal issues raised by the parties.
