Jammu, October 17, 2025: Veteran Congress leader, former Cabinet Minister, and revered President of the Dogra Sadar Sabha, Shri Gulchain Singh Charak, passed away today, leaving behind a profound legacy of dedicated public service and unwavering commitment to the people and heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
Shri Charak, who was widely regarded as a stalwart of the Dogra community, had an illustrious career marked by integrity and a focus on regional development. His demise is being mourned across the political and social spectrum of the Union Territory.
Leaders Express Deep Grief
Former Minister and Senior Congress Leader G.M. Saroori was among the first to express deep grief over the loss. In his condolence message, Saroori stated, “His demise is not only a personal loss for his family and the Dogra Sadar Sabha but a profound loss for the entire Jammu and Kashmir. We have lost a wise leader and a voice of experience.”
Saroori further extended his condolences to the bereaved family and admirers, praying for strength for them during this difficult time. “May his noble soul rest in eternal peace,” he added.
