CM Omar Abdullah hosts Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance in Gulmarg

Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance visits Gulmarg as part of study programme reviewing key economic and developmental matters.

Omar Abdullah on Tuesday hosted a dinner in honour of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance at Gulmarg during the committee’s ongoing study visit to Kashmir.

The Parliamentary panel, headed by Bhartruhari Mahtab, is on a study tour of Srinagar and Gulmarg from May 4 to May 7 to review and deliberate on key financial and economic matters.

The dinner gathering provided an opportunity for informal interaction between the Chief Minister and members of the committee amid the scenic surroundings of Gulmarg.

Welcoming the visiting members, Omar Abdullah expressed hope that the tour would provide valuable insights into Jammu and Kashmir’s developmental progress, tourism potential and economic landscape.

Officials said the visit forms part of the Parliamentary Standing Committee’s annual study programme aimed at gaining first-hand understanding of various sectors, policies and developmental initiatives across the country.

Several senior government officials and political representatives were present on the occasion, including Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Gulmarg Pirzada Farooq Ahmed Shah, MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo and Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Dheeraj Gupta.

Commissioner Secretary Industries and Commerce Vikramjit Singh, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla SF Hamid, DG Budget Mohammad Sultan Malik and other senior officers also attended the event.
