Jammu Dec 26: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Assam, commenced its State Executive Meeting at the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra Hall, bringing together senior national and state leadership to deliberate on the party’s organisational roadmap and future political strategy.
The meeting was inaugurated by Hon’ble National Working President Shri Nitin Nabin Ji in the presence of BJP Assam State President Shri Dilip Saikia Ji. Leader of the Opposition Shri Sunil Sharma attended the meeting along with senior party functionaries and elected representatives.
The high-level gathering witnessed the participation of Shri B. L. Santosh Ji, General Secretary (Organisation), Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma Ji, Union Ministers Shri Sarbananda Sonowal Ji and Shri Pavithra Margherita Ji, and senior leaders Shri Harish Dwivedi Ji, Shri Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda Ji, and Shri Ravindra Raju Ji.
During the deliberations, leaders reviewed organisational preparedness, governance initiatives, and outreach programmes across the state. Emphasis was laid on strengthening booth-level committees, energising party workers, and ensuring effective coordination between the organisation and the government.
Leader of the Opposition Shri Sunil Sharma, who has been entrusted with key responsibilities in the run-up to the 2026 Assam Assembly Elections, actively contributed to the strategic discussions. His role includes coordinating organisational efforts, strengthening communication between legislators and party workers, and assisting in election planning and execution across Assam. His leadership is expected to play a pivotal role in consolidating the party’s position and driving focused electoral preparedness at the grassroots level.
A significant portion of the meeting focused on strategic planning for the 2026 Assam Assembly Elections, with leaders stressing sustained public engagement, effective dissemination of developmental achievements, and expansion of the party’s outreach to all sections of society.
The State Executive Meeting will continue with further sessions on organisational expansion, electoral preparedness, and alignment with the party’s national vision, reaffirming BJP Assam’s commitment to strong governance and inclusive development.
