Students, youth and civil society members join anti-drug outreach programmes across district

BUDGAM, MAY 07: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukht Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, a series of awareness and outreach activities were organised across district Budgam today to intensify the fight against drug abuse and promote a healthy, drug-free society.

The programmes witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, youth, civil society members, officers and officials of various departments, besides members of local communities.

Awareness rallies, interactive sessions, pledge ceremonies and public outreach programmes were conducted at different locations across the district with the objective of sensitising people, particularly the younger generation, about the harmful effects of substance abuse.

Participants reiterated their commitment towards building a drug-free society and pledged to work collectively for eradication of the drug menace from the district.

Speakers during the programmes highlighted the importance of community participation, parental guidance and coordinated efforts of all stakeholders in combating drug addiction.

The activities were organised under the broader 100-day Nasha Mukht J&K Abhiyan launched across the Union Territory to strengthen awareness, prevention, rehabilitation and enforcement measures against narcotics abuse.
