Jammu, February 17, 2026: In a major enforcement drive, the office of the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Kishtwar has disqualified eight driving licences, including the licence of an accused allegedly involved in bovine smuggling. The action reflects the strong commitment of the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Kishtwar towards ensuring road safety and maintaining zero tolerance against traffic violations.
According to official details, the following driving licence holders have been disqualified:
1. Mushtaq Ahmed S/o Ghulam Shah R/o Kuriyapull – DL No. JK-1720190001920
2. Masood Ahmed S/o Ghulam Rasool Shah R/o Patimhalla – DL No. JK1720210001542
3. Tousif Fareed S/o Fareed Ahmed R/o Bugrana Saroor – DL No. JK1720210001273
4. Tariq Hussain S/o Bashir Ahmed R/o Deshna Keshwan – DL No. JK1720190000694
5. Liyaqat Hussain Gujjar S/o Mohd Esmail Gujjar R/o Phagumarh – DL No. JK1720110024504
6. Akshay Kumar S/o Ashok Kumar R/o Pandail Atholi – DL No. JK1720210001917
7. Ishtyaq Ahmed S/o Bashir Ahmed Bumal R/o Uringad Chatroo – DL No. JK1720210001917
8. Manzoor Ahmed S/o Abdul Majid R/o Filler – DL No. JK1720170000625
In addition, the Route Permits of three vehicles bearing registration numbers JK17A7763, JK17A3238, and JK17A7276 have been suspended. The Registration Certificate (RC) of another vehicle bearing registration number JK17B1773 has also been suspended.
Moreover, a total of 186 vehicles have been blacklisted as part of the enforcement measures.
Officials stated that the crackdown aims to enhance road discipline, curb illegal activities, and strengthen traffic regulation enforcement across Kishtwar district. The department reiterated its firm resolve to continue strict action against violators to ensure public safety and uphold the rule of law.
