Jammu, March 05: The Indian Army will hold recruitment drives from March 12 to enroll 800 porters for its newly raised Porter Company, officials said.
“A porter recruitment rally to enlist 600 porters and 200 reserve porters for the Army Porter Company will be conducted at seven locations in Rajouri and Poonch districts,” they added.
According to an official advertisement, the 279 Porter Company will be operational for 179 days — from April 1 to September 26 this year — under the Ministry of Defence.
The rallies will take place at seven brigade headquarters across Rajouri and Poonch between March 12 and 19. The schedule is as follows: Poonch and Rajouri from March 12 to 13, Balnoi and Naushera from March 14 to 15, Bhimber Gali from March 16 to 17, and Mendhar and Manjakote from March 18 to 19.
Eligible candidates must be Indian citizens, medically fit, and between 18 and 40 years of age. They are required to bring original documents along with five attested photocopies of their Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID, or Driving Licence.
Candidates must also provide a character certificate from their village sarpanch, an original medical fitness certificate from an authorized doctor, and an original police verification certificate.
Authorities have urged eligible applicants to report at the designated brigade locations on the specified dates for the recruitment process. (Agency)
