Anubrata Mondal Confronted Inside Party Office in Suri as Youths Vandalise Premises

Suri, Birbhum: Trinamool Congress leader Anubrata Mondal was allegedly confronted and manhandled by a group of youths inside a party office in Suri, Birbhum, on Wednesday. The youths, carrying sticks and tree branches, reportedly entered the office and vandalised furniture, glass panels and an air-conditioning unit while Mondal was present.

According to reports, the youths questioned Mondal over what they described as “15 years of oppression” in Birbhum and allegedly pulled him by his collar while issuing threats. Videos circulating from the incident appeared to show Mondal asking the youths to stop as the office was being vandalised.

Police detained/arrested three youths in connection with the incident, according to multiple reports. Mondal later left Suri under police protection.

The incident has drawn attention to the continuing political tensions surrounding Mondal, a prominent former TMC organisational leader in Birbhum. Allegations made by the attackers about past political violence and alleged mistreatment of people are claims attributed to those involved and should not be treated as established facts without independent verification.
