Member of Parliament from Srinagar and National Conference leader Agha Ruhullah said he is ready to stand with students again if they are compelled to protest over the long-pending reservation issue.

Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Ruhullah reaffirmed his unwavering support for students, saying he will continue to raise issue-based demands until they are fully addressed.

“I don’t want the students to suffer. Despite delays, if the issue forces them to protest again, I am ready for that too. I continue to stand with them,” he said.

Ruhullah pointed out that the sub-committee report on reservation, which was promised months ago, has not yet been presented. “The political struggle that should have taken place isn’t happening. Reservation is a crucial local issue. The report was submitted, but it seems it hasn’t moved forward,” he remarked.

He further said that he has assured students of his continued support. “I have told them that whenever they feel it’s time to resume their movement, I am ready. For me, this issue is neither dead nor sidelined,” Ruhullah added.

On the Budgam bypolls, Ruhullah said his participation or support depended on one key condition — the reservation report must be presented before the cabinet and a public decision made. “Only then can discussions on other matters move forward,” he said.

Ruhullah concluded by emphasizing that his fight remains purely issue-based. “I am not stepping back. In every way possible, I continue to fight the same fight,” he added.
