RAJOURI, Jan 17: A tragic incident has been reported from Rajouri district following the declaration of Class 10 examination results, where a 16-year-old girl allegedly took her own life after failing in one subject.
Officials identified the deceased as Saima Kouser, daughter of Mohammad Rafiq, a resident of Shahpur, Kotranka in Rajouri district. Preliminary information indicates that the teenager took the extreme step after learning that she had not cleared one paper in her Class 10 examination.
Family members said Saima was under visible stress following the announcement of the results, although no one anticipated such a tragic outcome.
Meanwhile, the police have taken cognizance of the matter. After completing postmortem and other legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family.
