The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has informed the Rajya Sabha Secretariat that MP Raghav Chadha should no longer be given time to speak in Parliament.
In an official communication, the party also requested that MP Ashok Mittal—an Indian businessman-turned-politician and the Founder and Chancellor of Lovely Professional University—be appointed as the new Deputy Leader of AAP in the Upper House, replacing Chadha.
According to sources, the letter also mentions that Chadha, a Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, should not be given speaking time in the House from AAP’s quota.
The move signals internal leadership changes within the party in the Rajya Sabha ahead of the upcoming parliamentary sessions.
Earlier, he had drawn attention for advocating that paternity leave be recognized as a legal right in India. He stressed that caregiving should be a shared responsibility between both parents and highlighted the need for laws to reflect modern parenting realities, ensuring equal involvement of both parents in early childcare.
