Sources claimed that growing resentment within sections of the party has reached a stage where internal differences are no longer confined to organizational discussions and are increasingly becoming visible in the public sphere. This, according to sources, has raised concerns regarding the image and credibility of the party in the Union Territory.

As per information received, concerns have reportedly been raised regarding certain political developments during the recent Assembly elections. Sources stated that issues related to internal political calculations and organizational functioning have allegedly contributed to dissatisfaction among sections of leaders and workers.

Adding further to the political unease, the recent public exchange between JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra and former JKPCC President Vikar Rasool Wani has also attracted significant attention within political circles. The open differences between the two senior Congress leaders reportedly triggered discussions among party workers and observers, with many viewing the development as reflecting broader organizational challenges confronting the party in Jammu & Kashmir. Political observers believe that public disagreements among senior leaders may further impact internal cohesion at a time when strengthening unity remains critical.

Sources further stated that many long-serving and dedicated workers reportedly feel marginalized within the existing organizational framework. It has also been alleged that several committed workers who remained associated with the party during politically difficult periods believe that they are not receiving adequate representation and recognition.

According to sources, concerns have also been expressed regarding the style of organizational functioning and decision-making processes. There are claims that broader consultations with senior leaders and experienced party functionaries are necessary to strengthen collective leadership and restore confidence among workers.

Sources also claimed that internal assessments concerning election performance and organizational challenges had earlier been brought before senior party leadership. However, it is alleged that adequate corrective measures have not yet been initiated to address these concerns.

Political observers believe the reported developments assume significance at a time when political parties are preparing for future electoral engagements and strengthening organizational structures at the grassroots level.

Sources further indicated that concerns were also expressed regarding the possible impact of continued internal divisions on the party’s future political prospects, particularly with Urban Local Bodies and Panchayat elections expected in the coming period.

According to sources, there is a growing demand for intervention by the party high command through wider consultations involving senior leaders, former ministers, former legislators, district leadership and office bearers in order to address grievances and strengthen the organization.

The reported developments have triggered discussions in political circles regarding the internal situation of the Congress unit in Jammu & Kashmir, with attention now likely to shift towards the response of the party leadership in the coming days.

No official response from the Jammu & Kashmir Congress leadership was available at the time of filing this report. The concerns and allegations mentioned above are based on information and inputs shared by sources and could not be independently verified.
