Jammu, May 22: In a major development in the Channi Bypass biker case, Jammu Police on Thursday recovered and seized the motorcycle allegedly used by biker Haq Nawaz, who was arrested earlier in connection with the viral reckless driving incident on National Highway-44.

The recovery operation was carried out after sustained efforts and investigation by the Channi Police team led by SHO Mushtaj Ahmed along with Investigating Officer S.I. Tejender. Officials said the police team worked continuously to trace and seize the motorcycle, which was allegedly being driven without a number plate on the National Highway.

Further Regional Transport Office (RTO) Jammu is also expected to initiate a separate inquiry under provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. Authorities are likely to examine whether the accused biker possessed a valid driving licence and how the motorcycle was being operated openly on NH-44 despite alleged violations of traffic regulations.

Officials said strict action may be taken under relevant Motor Vehicle laws if violations are established during the inquiry. Action could also be initiated against the registered owner of the motorcycle over alleged misuse of the vehicle and operating it without a proper registration plate on a busy National Highway.

Notably, video evidence linked to the viral incident has already surfaced online, showing the motorcycle allegedly being driven recklessly on the highway, triggering widespread public outrage and demands for strict action.

Meanwhile, agencies are also continuing parallel investigations into the alleged “V3 Gang” angle and social media activities connected to the case.
