Ramban, May 14: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today inaugurated a Women’s Tailor Training Programme at SBI RSETI Ramban.
The event was attended by Director RSETI S. Harvinder Singh, Tehsildar Deep Kumar, RSETI staff members, trainees, and other officials.
The training programme is designed to equip women with modern tailoring skills, enabling them to become self-reliant and pursue income-generating self-employment opportunities.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated SBI RSETI for its efforts in promoting entrepreneurship among rural youth and women. He emphasized that skill-based training plays a crucial role in strengthening the economic independence of women and encouraging them to start their own ventures.
He urged the trainees to fully utilize the training opportunity and apply their skills effectively for sustainable livelihood generation.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the training facilities at the institute and assured full support from the district administration for initiatives aimed at socio-economic empowerment.
He highlighted that empowering women through skill development is essential for building a self-reliant and progressive society.
Director SBI RSETI S. Harvinder Singh said the institute regularly conducts free skill development programmes for unemployed youth and women, and added that the tailoring course will provide practical, entrepreneurship-oriented training to help participants establish their own units.
