Baramulla, May 08: An awareness programme on the topic “Declining Birth Rate in Kashmir: Causes and the Way Forward” was organised in Sopore area of Baramulla district by Hanifa Nursing College in collaboration with Hakim Sanaullah Specialist Hospital and Cancer Centre.
The programme witnessed participation from B.Sc Nursing students of various nursing colleges from across the Kashmir Valley, who actively engaged in discussions regarding the declining birth rate and its social and medical implications.
During the event, students expressed concern over the noticeable fall in birth rates in Kashmir and termed it a serious issue requiring greater awareness and public attention. They highlighted several social, lifestyle and medical factors that could be contributing to the trend.
Prominent doctors and medical experts from the Valley also addressed the gathering and discussed possible causes behind the declining birth rate. They stressed the importance of further research, awareness and community engagement to better understand and address the issue.
The experts emphasized that more awareness initiatives and programmes would be organised in future to encourage informed discussions on public health concerns affecting society.
Participating students appreciated the programme and said such awareness events are important for educating society and promoting meaningful dialogue on sensitive health-related issues.
