Shopian, May 08: A review meeting regarding preparations for Census 2027 was today held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz.
During the meeting, a detailed assessment of key agenda points related to the upcoming census exercise was carried out, with focus on administrative readiness and field-level coordination.
Discussions were held on tehsil-wise appointment and registration status of Enumerators and Supervisors on the CMMS portal, along with preparations for training programmes of field functionaries. It was informed that the training schedule for Supervisors and Enumerators has been fixed from May 14 to May 23, 2026.
The ADC directed all concerned officers to ensure timely completion of training activities and maintain proper coordination for smooth execution of census operations. He also reviewed issues related to the formation of House Listing Blocks (HLBs) and implementation of self-enumeration targets in the district.
Emphasizing the importance of public participation, Dr. Faaz instructed officials to intensify awareness and publicity campaigns at the grassroots level so that citizens are well-informed about the census process and self-enumeration facilities.
He further directed departments to maintain close inter-departmental coordination and ensure that all preparatory works are completed well before the commencement of census operations.
The meeting was attended by ACR Shopian Shakoor Ahmad Dar, DSEO Shopian Bilkeesa Zahoor, DIO Shopian Showkat Hussain Ganie, along with Tehsildars, CEO MC Shopian and other concerned officials.
