Jammu, Feb 25: Security forces recovered a cache of arms and explosive material, including improvised explosive devices (IEDs), from the Kasbalari area of Mendhar in Poonch district on Tuesday.
Officials said the recovery was made during a routine patrol when personnel spotted a suspicious black bag. Upon examination, they found a 4.5 kg IED, another smaller IED, two Chinese-made grenades, a 9mm pistol with two live rounds, 22 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and an additional black bag.
The Army’s bomb disposal squad later shifted the explosive devices to a safe location, where they were defused without causing any damage.
A case has been registered at Mendhar Police Station, and further investigation is in progress. (Agency)
