A goods carrier truck was hit by a landslide in the Malai Nallah area of Mahore in Reasi district, Jammu and Kashmir, during the night between Friday and Saturday, killing the driver and injuring two others.
Officials said the vehicle, bearing registration number JK20B-9578, was en route to Mahore when it got trapped under debris between 2 and 3 a.m. The injured were immediately taken to nearby health facilities for treatment.
Doctors at PHC Dharmari declared the driver, identified as Shabaz Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed, a resident of Jamlan Mahore (Reasi), dead on arrival.
The injured have been identified as Javed Ahmad, son of Mohammad Hussain of Kansooli, Mahore (Reasi), and Abdul Ghani. Both were given first aid before being shifted for further treatment.
Police have registered a case in the matter. (Agencies)
