The United Arab Emirates has officially refuted widespread media claims about a so-called “lifetime” Golden Visa available to certain nationalities, including Indians, through consultancy channels. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) confirmed that such reports are false and legally unfounded.
A press release from a consultancy firm, Rayad Group, recently circulated misinformation suggesting that Indians and Bangladeshis could secure lifetime UAE residency and even citizenship by paying AED 100,000 (approximately ₹23.3 lakh) without the traditional investment in property or business. The release also falsely listed visa services firm VFS Global as a partner and claimed China and other CEPA countries would soon be included.
In response, the ICP clarified that all Golden Visa categories, conditions, and application procedures are governed strictly by official laws and must be processed only through UAE government portals. No consultancy or commercial firm, domestic or foreign, is authorized to handle such applications.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and security in the visa process, the Authority warned the public against falling for fraudulent schemes exploiting hopes of long-term residency. It also stated that legal action will be taken against entities or individuals propagating false claims and collecting money under false pretenses.
The ICP urged everyone seeking to visit, invest in, or move to the UAE to consult only official government sources — either via their website or the 24/7 helpline at 600522222 — to verify any visa-related information.
