NAGOYA: India secured a double podium finish in the men’s javelin throw at the 2026 Asian Games as Yashvir Singh won the silver medal with a personal-best throw of 85.72 metres, while Rohit Yadav claimed bronze with 84.35 metres.
Yashvir saved his best effort for his final attempt, surpassing his previous personal best and moving into the silver-medal position. Rohit had briefly led the competition before finishing third.
Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage secured the gold medal with a throw of 88.55 metres. The final was held in rainy and challenging conditions at the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium.
The result gave India two medals in the men’s javelin event at the Asian Games, with Yashvir and Rohit both finishing on the podium.
